Got the blue carbon steel round bottom. Washed and scrubbed it with mild soap to clean oil coating from manufacturer. Then seasoned it again. Nothing sticks to it. Made some stir fry, fried rice, curry chicken, beef chow fun, egg test. Cleaned with water only, then dried and oil after each use. Get a nice sturdy wooden briseled brush to scrub. And wok ring for your stove.

Do I have your attention now?

This carbon steel wok is excellent! BUT, if you do not possess the patience or knowledge on how to use or care for a cast iron or high carbon steel pan, this is not for you. Just like ALL other cast iron or high carbon steel woks, pans, dutch ovens, etc., these require knowledge and time to take care of.

DO NOT buy this if you are you consider yourself to be a lazy person. If you only wash your dishes with a dishwasher this is not for you. If you do not want to take the time to clean, hand dry, and season after each use, this is not for you.

However, if you possess the patience, knowledge, or willingness to season a cast iron/carbon steel pan and take care of it, this will bring you flavors you cannot find without a cast iron/carbon steel pan/wok. Just like men (and women IMO), cast iron/carbon steel is like a fine wine and only gets better with age!

If you're still with me now and want to know a little secret... you can wash cast iron and carbon steel with Dawn soap. The idea of never washing these with soap came from an era where soap was heavy with lye and it would destroy your seasoning. I only recommend doing this AFTER you have built up a good seasoning/patina.

I hope this review helps someone and if you do decide to buy this pan and season/take care of this wok, you will not be disappointed. There are flavors that can only be experienced with cast iron/carbon steel and they are to die for.
